Notes: First Lieutenant Walter Boadway wore this uniform after the Allied victory in Europe where he served as a liaison officer to the French army. The wool tunic is decorated with wings on the collar and bars on the epaulettes signifying his rank as a 1st Lieutenant. Each sleeve has a military aviator patch, and on his left sleeve is a Fleur de Lys patch indicating his role as a liaison officer with the French. The three chevrons on his left sleeve represent his three years of military service. Above the left pocket are three service ribbons. The middle one is the Victory Medal issued to the participants in the war. A Sam Brown belt, an officer’s hat, and brown leather leggings at the bottom of trousers complete the uniform.
