This illustrated Zoom presentation with Community Stitches co-curator Leah Zieber will explore the history of 19th century American textile mills and the manufacturing of printed cotton. Discover how the Industrial Revolution promoted the American quilting phenomenon while also moving young women out of the home and into the work force. Through quilts, we gain an understanding of the relationships that tie technology, industry, and society together.
This program will be on Zoom. Link to the program will be sent to all participants the day before the program.
