Join PMH Project Archivist, Iris Shih, for a show-and-tell presentation on the Museum’s collections devoted to the famed American Arts and Crafts tilemaker, Ernest Allen Batchelder (1875/6-1957). The Batchelder Family Papers and the Ernest A. Batchelder Tile Collection and Archives at PMH include personal records; original artwork; business papers; photographs; catalogs; and tiles. These materials were donated to the Museum by the artist and educator’s grandson Alan Batchelder and the late, renowned architectural historian Dr. Robert Winter.

In addition, Iris will update you about her work with the Batchelder Tile Registry, an ongoing project at PMH that compiles extant Batchelder tile installations to research the scope and distribution of the tiles throughout North America. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore these treasures and discover more about the life and accomplishments of this pillar of Pasadena’s artistic community.

Presentation will begin at 7:00 pm; PMH Galleries will be open for viewing at 6:00 pm.
