Celebrate the 115th anniversary of California women winning the vote with a special screening and panel discussion of California Women Win the Vote (2011). The 29-minute film tells an enterprising and dramatic story of how women in California campaigned and invented tactics to earn suffrage in 1911 – nine years before the rest of the nation. The film features live reenactments and stock footage, plus historical material – including scrapbooks – from Pasadena Museum of History’s Research Library and Archives. California Women Win the Vote was the centerpiece at the state-wide celebration of California’s Centennial of Women’s Right to Vote in 2011 and continues to inspire and educate people of all ages today.

Screening of California Women Win the Vote will begin at 5:30 pm followed by a panel discussion with Film Director, Martha Wheelock; actors, Maggie Macallister and Amy Simon; Award-winning Journalist, Ellen Snortland; and PMH Director of Collections, Anuja Navare.

Program will begin at 5:00 pm; and a tea reception will be served; PMH Galleries will be open for viewing.
